Ankara seen from Oslo this weekend March 8-9th 2014

I am back for a weekend in Oslo, far from Ankara. May be that gives another perspective?

President Gul’s seven years term ends in 2014. He can be re-elected for five years but has not decided yet if he want. Prime Minister Erdoğan has not decided either, if he want. He must first be sure that the president will get more power than the president has now, according to reports. President election will be on August 10^th and for the first time it will be direct election not by the parliament.

But first of all is there a local election March 30^th that may give some signals on people opinions on the latest period different leakages and political actions. “I am ready to quit politics if AKP loses the election” stated PM Erdoğan. We may end up in a discussion on what is meant by loosing.

Well, seems that this will be an exciting spring and summer, and hopefully it ends with a result that gain the Turkish people in the long run.

PM Erdoğan has threatened to ban Facebook and YouTube “if needed” so maybe I am soon off line, or you only meet me at Twittet because I think he forgot that one.
